Preface
Annual Review of Pharmacology
This second volume in the new Annual Review of Pharmacology series follows the general structure of the first which, from the Bon Voyage of Torald Sollmann to the Review of Reviews by Chauncey Leake, was found to be an acceptable and useful volume. The main fields of pharmacology have been reviewed again, as they will be annually, to keep the reader up-to-date. Other more restricted fields are included periodically as advances are made. Our purpose remains that of furnishing the reader with a concise and readable summary of new developments which have occurred in the whole field of pharmacology during the last year.
The Editors have been most appreciative of the many suggestions for content, authors, and format which were made by the authors of Volume I, and by the number of interested persons, especially during the First International Congress of Pharmacology in Stockholm. We also appreciate the editorial mechanism at the Annual Reviews' Office, and the invaluable day by day work of the Annual Review of Pharmacology's Editorial Assistant, Mrs. Prudence H. Whittemore.
